I was...I really liked getting to meet the Belgians! I was lucky, and I had a chance to personally meet them all and to host one of the girls. The thing that I found most interesting about this experience was how similar the Belgian kids are. We listened to the same music, watched the same movies, talked about the same things, and shopped in the same stores. I also went on the trip to Williamsburg., which was so much fun! Although I had already been there and so the sights weren't new, it was tons of fun to be able to talk with the other kids. In addition to meeting and talking to the kids, I also feel like my french was gotten so much better for this!! The kids told me new commonly used words and how to better pronounce things. The best part of my experience was the ability to just talk to the kids in french without worrying that my grammar was a little off or that I didn't pronounce the words right. It was amazing how I could just talk to the girls and guys the same way I talked to my friends. I am so glad to have participation in this experience and to be able to keep the friendships that I have made.

Thanks for this opportunity
Emily Lauterbach 8th periodAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
